Soil & Rock Slopes

In rock slopes, this work includes evaluation of kinematic failure mechanisms, rockmass strength criteria, defect characteristics, groundwater influence and stereonet analysis to assist in demonstrating the relationship between slope face geometry and stability.

In soil slopes, identifying and modelling failure mechanisms and causes, including back analyses of pre-existing failure surfaces, modelling appropriate effective / total stress shear strengths, peak / residual shear strengths and modelling pore water pressure effects, including wetting front variations with time are all important design issues that we consider. We also have experience in predicting seismic induced ground deformations and the determination of critical deformation limits with respect to stability.

We utilise the latest software tools, in conjunction with first principle sanity checks, to analyse slopes and provide the level of reporting required for any given application.
