Craig Butterworth

Craig is a professionally qualified geotechnical engineer with over 17 years’ experience in Australia, UK and the Middle East, including ground investigations, interpretation of geotechnical data, supervision of groundwork’s, deep basement design and temporary works design for excavations.

Craig started his career working offshore and nearshore carrying out site investigations, and subsequently worked for a number of years in the onshore site investigation contracting sector in the UK. Since 2001 Craig has worked mainly in a design consultancy role, firstly within a large multi-disciplinary environment working on urban developments such as offices, schools, stadiums and hotels. Subsequently he has gained experience in the UK working as a temporary works co-coordinator for a large water utility company and assisting local councils manage slope stability risks.

Since arriving in Australia in 2010 he has worked on a large number of prominent projects within Perth and WA, including Elizabeth Quay, Perth City Link, Old Treasury Building, King’s Square Precinct and numerous other building developments.

Craig is responsible for the technical delivery of both temporary and permanent works design.  In particular he works closely with specialist contractors and is also involved with the geodata management for CMW.
